Has it really been 10 years since we were all panicking about the Y2K bug? Yes, it’s the end of another decade, and as with any good publication, we’re going to overload you with lists as we pause to reflect. What’s first? The 10 greatest moments in science, in ascending order:

A Decade of Great Moments in Science

The original “27 club” was Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison, who died within 2 years of each other in 1969-1971. To these is usually added Kurt Cobain (1994). Many other notable people, some well-known, others less so, also died at the age of 27. I have omitted some other musicians and actors (who would otherwise dominate the list) to make a broader and (hopefully) more interesting list. The “biographies” are necessarily short and cannot go into the speculations and conspiracy theories that have arisen around some of the deaths. The list is in approximate order of “well-knownness”, but nothing of real importance should be inferred from the order. The top five are in reverse chronological order.

Yes, I do have a life, and I enjoy it very much.

However, I AM online a lot. And I see a lot of interesting stuff on the net. Sometimes I write about it in my other blogs. Sometimes I don’t feel like writing. Sometimes I post a link to Mixx or Facebook. Sometimes I do nothing about it.

I have a vast array of interests – from internet to scuba diving, from tennis to Drum and Bass. I need more room to accommodate all that.

In this blog, for starters, I’ll just link to interesting shit (or shits and giggles, if you want) I see on the net. That’s it. Nothing more sophisticated than that. This first post might be the longest in this blog for a while.

This blog is not for the faint of heart. There will be profanity. Disturbing images. And a lot of stuff that interests no one but me. Who said life was perfect?
